Works for Queensland program

Queensland GovernmentThe Works for Queensland (W4Q) program is a Queensland Government funding program to support local governments outside of South East Queensland to undertake job-creating maintenance and minor infrastructure works.

This initiative is delivered by the Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning and funded under the State Infrastructure Fund.

In 2016-17 Mackay Regional Council was allocated $11.49M of the $200 million program's budget. Whilst given an allocation, a formal submission listing projects was needed to be lodged for final approval against funding eligibility. The recommended projects for Mackay included a wide variety of projects (both new and upgrades), for facilities, amenities, and infrastructure across the whole council area.

In the 2017-19 $200 million W4Q program Mackay Regional Council was allocated another $10.95 million to use over two years. Below is a list of all the projects we are currently working on. As work progresses, new details will be added.
