Council has completed work repairing an exposed water main that services residents in Campwin Beach. Tidal erosion had caused the sand covering the pipe to wash away, exposing it to the elements. The project involved laying 68 sandbags over the exposed pipe, each weighing six tonnes, which were installed over eight days. This is the first time a project like this has been completed in our region.
This project supported eight existing jobs and is part of the State Government’s $200 million Works for Queensland program.
