1) Tai Chi Interactive Sessions

Tai Chi interactive sessions are being held at Bluewater Quay to celebrate World Tai Chi and Qigong Day (April 29). Come along for an evening session of the community coming together, to breathe together, providing a healing vision for our world.

2) Free learn to skate workshop

Kemmis Park

Learn to skate in a family friendly atmosphere by an accredited skateboarding coach. Workshops cater to all ages and skills. Boys and girls welcome. Places are limited.

3) Dust of Uruzgan by Fred Smith

In the live show you will be transported to Afghanistan, to the experience of life as a soldier: the dust, the heat, the frustration, the fighting and the camaraderie. 5) Plants: Unconventional Art Medium by Maya Harrison

Maya has dabbled with many different mediums in her past exhibitions, but this time she has put together a collection of unique artworks using a variety of plant parts or products made from plants.

Take a trip the award winning Sarina Sugar Shed and sweeten up your week. Tour times are 9.30am, 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm. The miniature sugar processing & distilling equipment has been sourced from all over the world. Seeing it in action is a delight for all ages. During your tour you’ll get to taste sugar in many forms. Just off the Bruce Highway 30kms south of Mackay, come and relax with some delightful refreshments in the café.

Offering support to those who love the thought of using new technology like smart phones, tablets and mp3 players but need a little assistance learning how they work. The libraries' Tech Talk sessions will give residents the opportunity to talk one-on-one with someone who can assist them with their everyday technology questions.

Kids Art Club is Artspace Mackay’s ongoing term-based Saturday art program for kids. Renowned local artists deliver this rich six week program of creative art for kids in two age groups. Each week they explore and respond to the exhibitions on show at Artspace Mackay through fun-filled art activities. They learn new techniques and make art with all kinds of exciting creative materials. The fee is $150 per child for six weeks and includes art materials each week. 10) Greater Whitsunday Farmers’ Market

The Farmers' Market is held every Wednesday from 8am until 1pm at the Bluewater Quay on River Street in the Mackay City Centre. The market showcase our regions amazing produce giving farmers an opportunity to help grow our local food culture.
