Botanic Gardens car park upgrades

Published: 21 Feb 2019

Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens is completing upgrades to its car park.

On Monday, February 25, and Tuesday, February 26, trees and selected hedges in the car park will be removed.

In addition to providing more room for visitors to the Botanic Gardens, removing the trees will prevent future damage to car spaces.

Many of the pavers in the car park have been displaced by roots of existing trees, causing extensive damage to car spaces.

During the tree removals, half of the car park will be closed each morning to allow crews to safely remove vegetation.

The car park will be resurfaced with pavers next month, weather permitting.
