Library to become young adult hub after dark

This Library After Dark event will run from 6pm to 8pm and will be open exclusively to young adults aged from 12 to 18.

Cr Fran Mann said the library team would be ordering pizzas and snacks, setting up some chill zones and putting on plenty of entertainment.

“There will be online games and board games, anime, acoustic music and some dancing,” Cr Mann said.

“This is a free event open to library members and is a great way for libraries to connect with young adults in our community,” she said.

Young adults who are not already library members are welcome, but please join at https://library.mackay.qld.gov.au/Montage/Join.aspx before attending.

“Being on the last Friday night of the school holidays, it’s also an excellent opportunity for the young adults to relax before school starts again,” Cr Mann said.
