Lights installed on Milton Street

Published: 26 Apr 2019

Traffic lights are being installed at the intersection of Milton Street and East Boundary Road.

The lights will improve safety at the intersection.

Construction will begin this Monday, April 29, weather permitting, and will be completed in four stages.

The project will alternate between day and night works as required. Night works will be completed between 7pm and 6am and day works will be completed between 6am and 6pm.

Some road closures and detours will be in place. Motorists are asked to obey all signage and the instructions of traffic controllers or avoid the area, if possible.

Motorists travelling to the airport are advised to leave early and allow for 15-minute delays.

The project is expected to be completed in November.

This $4.5 million project is joint funded initiative between Mackay Regional Council and the Department of Transport and Main Roads’ Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme (TIDS).
