What a bunch of Wallys!

Where's Wally took over the Civic Precinct during last year’s Book Week Picnic in the Park.

Wally was popular in 2016, but residents are encouraged to let their imaginations run wild in preparation for this year’s Book Week from August 19 to 26.

Community Engagement Committee chair Cr Fran Mann said Book Week was a vibrant, exciting week for the young and young at heart.

“I really look forward to seeing what costumes our residents come up with this year,” Cr Mann said.

“The Picnic in the Park on Thursday (August 24) will be a heap of fun with a Story Time on the lawn, face painting, balloon art, puppets and games,” she said.

“On the Friday, there’s the annual Walkerston Book Week Parade, which is an amazing event where children dress up as book characters and flood the streets of Walkerston.

“There will also be special Book Week Baby Bounce, Toddler Time and Story Time sessions– not to mention some exciting book-related competitions throughout the week.”
