Council and committee meetings

Council Meetings will move to twice a month from February 14, after a unanimous council decision.

All councillors supported a move to hold two monthly Ordinary Meetings on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. The move follows a report, requested by councillors last year to review the current Committee Meeting Structure. The Mayor describes the move as a positive one, which will allow councillors to be much more strategic.

Ordinary meetings

Council will meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 10am commencing  in Council Chambers which is located on the first floor of the Sir Albert Abbott Administration Building Gordon Street in Mackay.

Directorate reports

Council previously operated four Standing Committees. With the move to twice monthly ordinary meetings, each directorate provides a monthly report to one of the two ordinary meetings.
