Open Space Planning Scheme Policy

The compact 13-page policy will set standards for parks and open space when undertaking new land development. Once adopted, the policy will provide clear guidance on the provision of open space, the type of recreation parks, and minimum requirements for their size, performance and embellishments.

Council resolved in November 2017 to make a proposed Planning Scheme Policy on Open Space. Public consultation on the proposed policy was held between 16 February 2018 and 16 March 2018.

Council are currently considering the comments made by submitters and will decide whether or not to adopt the Open Space Planning Scheme Policy at a future Ordinary meeting.
