Women Who Make Us Proud Awards (#MackayPride)

Mackay Regional Council is partnering with a number of local organisations to deliver the Women Who Make Us Proud Awards (#Mackaypride).

The awards are an opportunity to showcase the hard work and achievements of local women across the region.

All you need to do is write in 150 words why the woman you have chosen for this award makes you proud. Each woman who is nominated will be sent an official certificate containing the text written by the person who has nominated her (nominators can remain anonymous if they wish).

These awards are intended to recognise everyday women’s extraordinary achievements and some ideas of people you might like to nominate include:

  • Any woman who makes you proud in our community
  • Someone special in your life who has made a difference to you personally
  • Quietly achieving women who work hard behind the scenes for their community
  • Young women who demonstrate leadership in their school or community

These awards are part of International Women’s Day and Queensland Women’s Week Celebrations from March 6 – 12. This year’s theme is “Be Involved Lead The Way”..

Applications close on February 20, 2017.

Phone Community Development Officer Rikki Kemp on 4961 9655 with any questions.
