Community consultation

The involvement of residents and other spheres of government in the early stages of the process enables council to elicit information about concerns, ideas and options regarding proposals, prior to council decision-making.

This ensures that council planning integrates economic, social and environmental considerations, and increases the likelihood that council decision making will be supported by all concerned.
