Mackay Volunteer Expo 2017

Mackay Senior Citizens Centre, 58 Macalister Street, Mackay
Sunday, May 7, 2017, 10am – 2pm

There will be hundreds of different roles on offer at Mackay’s first Volunteer Expo.

The goal of the Expo is to match potential volunteers to roles that suit them, their time constraints and their talents.

There will be a role to suit everyone in the community.

Whether you want to be inside or outside and whether you want to help people, animals, the environment or the community, there will be something at the Expo for you.

And is doesn’t matter if you have a few days a week spare or just a few hours each year.

There are exciting opportunities for young people looking to upskill themselves and build their resumes as well as stay-at-home mums and dads looking for a social activity during school hours.

Even if you don’t fancy yourself as a potential volunteer, there is plenty at the Expo for families:

  • Native plant giveaways
  • Mackay Tourism’s mobile Visitor Information Centre
  • Mackay Surf Lifesaving’s “pluck a duck” activity for the kids and CPR demonstration
  • Free engraving of goods by the Volunteers in Policing group
  • See the Rural Fire Brigade’s fire engine
  • Pat some cute kittens with the RSCPA volunteers

Food and drink will be available for purchase.
