Mackay Show

#MackayPride on display

Council’s display at the Mackay Show this year is set to 'wow' young and old.

The display will be a tropical, ‘mini Mackay’ themed display decked with trees and plants of all sizes, park benches to rest weary legs and a Library kid’s zone. For those with a green thumb the Parks and Environment team will be giving away free native plants to help local residents revitalise their gardens after Cyclone Debbie. Other giveaways at the display will include books from the libraries, free helium balloons for the kids and dog chews and dog leads from the Local Laws team.

A wide cross section of staff will be at the council Show display ranging from Library and Economic Development staff to Parks and Gardens and Local Laws Officers. Councillors will also attend during peak times and the public can sit down and have a ‘cuppa’ with their local Councillor.

There will be no shortage of entertainment with live music scheduled at various times by local musicians and educational puppet shows for the kids by ‘Ranger Ros’ from Wild Puppets.

Visit the council display at Pavilion 2 for a chance to win a trip for two to the State of Origin final at Suncorp Stadium, including accommodation and flights! Read the terms and conditions.
