Volunteer Expo

After a successful maiden year in 2017, the Mackay Volunteer Expo is back and scheduled for June 10.

The Expo runs from 10am to 2pm at the Mackay Seniors Citizens Centre and on the green space in the Civic Precinct.

The goal of the Expo is to match potential volunteers to roles that suit them, their time constraints and their talents.

There will be hundreds of different roles on offer, and not just for retirees. There are exciting opportunities for young people looking to upskill themselves and build their resumes as well as stay-at-home mums and dads looking for a social activity during school hours.

Many volunteer organisations are registered training organisations, so you can learn valuable skills and even gain industry-recognised accreditations.

Last year saw more than 50 organisations take part and large crowds.  Many exhibitors, like the State Emergency Service, ran out of application forms.

Food and drink will be available for purchase. For more information, follow Mackay Regional Council on Facebook.
