Seniors Expo 2018

About the Mackay Seniors Expo

Last year, the first Mackay Seniors Expo to be held at the Mackay Showgrounds’ Big Shed received rave reviews from its distinguished demographic.

The event is back at this location this year on Tuesday, August 21.

The big open shed provides a cool expo environment where residents and exhibitors can easy interact without having to shout.

Up to 80 stalls, all offering services and information that supports our senior community, will be at the expo.

Some examples are the various health services, funeral services, travel agencies, solicitors, public trustee, community support agencies, health and wellness organisations and community transport organisations.

The Expo will run from 9am to 1pm and residents are welcome to stay for lunch or morning tea.

There will be plenty of seating, a coffee van, and Mother’s Pantry will be onsite serving healthy options and the Slade Point Meat Specialists will have their award-winning German Bratwurst and all the trimmings and burgers.

The event is free to attend and parking is plentiful within the Showgrounds.  A drop-off zone will also be provided for those with restricted mobility.

Less than 20 sites left!

The exhibitor list for the Mackay Seniors Expo is already three-quarters full.

A capped 80 sites are available for businesses and not-for-profit organisations.

Last year around 3000 information-hungry seniors flocked to the event’s new Show Grounds location, making it the biggest ever.

Organisers are expecting further growth in 2018.

The Expo is the ideal platform to showcase your organisation and improve awareness of your services to older people, their carers, friends and family in Mackay.

Sites cost just $25 for not-for-profits and $200 for businesses.

To request an application form, contact Danni Wiseman, Senior’s Expo Working Group at dannielle.wiseman@mackay.qld.gov.au or on 4961 9596.

Applications close Friday, July 27.
