Funding and grants
Funding from the Natural Environment Levy is available each year to encourage partnerships between Council and the community and provide opportunities for the sustainable management of public land.
Council welcomes submissions from the community regarding ideas for potential projects. Successful projects will involve a partnership between the community and Council to achieve project outcomes.
Projects must be undertaken on public land and be of benefit to the local environment and community.
Some examples of potential projects include:
- Developing a brochure or interpretive signage about the natural environment
- Weed control or planting projects in a local habitat area
- Support for workshops
- Field trips or demonstration projects focusing on local environmental issues
Funding rounds are held in February and August each year, with applications due on the first Friday of February and August.
For more information, or to discuss your project ideas, contact the Natural Environment Coordinator. To ensure that your project fits with the funding criteria and is eligible for consideration, please ensure you discuss your project prior to submitting an application.
An application form and further information is available under the Grant Program heading.
