Sandfly Creek Environmental Reserve Management Plan

Council recently adopted a new management plan for Sandfly Creek Environmental Reserve.  The reserve is located on the south bank of the Pioneer River on the eastern side of Mackay City.  Internationally significant numbers of migratory shorebirds have been seen at the reserve, and suitable habitat exists for the nationally threatened mangrove mouse. The managment plan details cost-effective strategies to ensure the long-term protection of the natural environment at Sandfly Creek Environmental Reserve.
