Local history collection

Mackay Regional Council Libraries Local History Collection, located in the Carmel Daveson Local History Research Room at the City Library, hosts an extensive range of resources related to the history and development of the Mackay region. 

The collection includes books, family history resources, newspaper archives, vertical file material and an extensive historical photograph collection. 

The Carmel Daveson Local History Research Room is open during usual library opening times (excluding Fridays). 

Microfilm/fiche readers are available for use.  Bookings are recommended.
