North Queensland Road Alliance

The North Queensland Road Alliance (NQRA) is a bipartisan group, formed in response to the very poor condition of the Bruce Highway in North Queensland.

The NQRA consists of Mayors from the following councils:

• Sarina
• Mackay
• Bowen
• Burdekin
• Townsville
• Thuringowa
• Hinchinbrook
• Cardwell
• Johnstone
• Cairns

Representatives from:

• RACQ
• Local Government Association of Queensland
• North Queensland Road Users Group

The NQRA is a peak lobby group with one aim: to ensure investment in North Queensland's Bruce Highway is adequate to meet the needs of local communities and the North Queensland economy.

The NQRA works closely with stakeholders such as the Queensland Department of Main Roads to ensure that it presents funding needs that are the highest priority and that are viable for immediate implementation.
