Works for Queensland program
The Works for Queensland (W4Q) program is a Queensland Government funding program to support local governments outside of South East Queensland to undertake job-creating maintenance and minor infrastructure works.
This initiative is delivered by the Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning and funded under the State Infrastructure Fund.
In 2016-17 Mackay Regional Council was allocated $11.49 million of the $200 million program's budget. The projects for the Mackay region included a wide variety of projects (both new and upgrades), for facilities, amenities, and infrastructure across the whole council area.
Mackay Regional Council was allocated another $10.95 million to use over two years as part of the 2017-19 W4Q program.
In 2019/20, council received $9.98 million, which will be used to complete the projects listed below. As work progresses, new details will be added.
