Council administration building

The energy efficiency project replaced old fluorescent light tubes and halogen spotlights in council’s administration precinct with energy efficient lighting.  Light fittings in Artspace, the MECC, 42 Wellington Street and Council’s Gordon Street administration building were replaced with LED lighting.  LED’s emit light in a specific direction, reducing the need for reflectors and diffusers, making LED’s more energy efficient.  Replacing lights with more energy efficient options is expected to save council around $15,000 per year.
