Works for Queensland program

Queensland GovernmentThe Works for Queensland (W4Q) program is a Queensland Government funding program to support local governments outside of South East Queensland to undertake job-creating maintenance and minor infrastructure works.

This initiative is delivered by the Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning and funded under the State Infrastructure Fund.

In 2019 – 2021, Mackay Regional Council was allocated $9.98M for Works for Queensland Round 3, the included projects are new and upgrades to existing facilities and infrastructure across the whole council region.

As part of the Queensland Governments Economic Recovery Strategy: Unit and Recover for Queensland Jobs the Works for Queensland COVID program was made available to all councils and is to be used to support the delivery of job creating new infrastructure, maintenance or minor works projects.

In 2020 – 2021 Mackay Regional Council was also allocated $6.93M from Works for Queensland COVID funding.
