Creative residents have the opportunity to tap into a $70,000 funding pool if they act before Wednesday, February 13.

These grants are available through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) for projects starting after Monday, April 1, 2019.

This is the second round of RADF funding for this financial year.

RADF funding has a long history of enriching and assisting local creative endeavors.

Some examples of RADF-supported projects include the Plastic Boutique Project, Fabulous Figures exhibition, Whitsunday Voices Youth Literature Festival, Pasifika Festival and many others.

There are five categories of funding available this round for individuals, groups and organisations:

  • Individual development
  • Projects and programs
  • Community well-being
  • Community resilience
  • Concept development

Guidelines and applications are available online at www.mackay.qld.gov.au/radf

Queensland Arts Minister Leeanne Enoch said investing in creative and cultural experiences through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) strengthened regional communities, boosted cultural tourism, and enhanced the quality of life in rural and remote towns and cities.

“RADF is a unique partnership between the Queensland Government and Mackay Regional Council to support local talent, unite communities and celebrate the arts across the state,” Ms Enoch said.

“The Queensland Government, through Arts Queensland, is contributing $2.08 million in 2018-19 in partnership with 58 councils state-wide to help deliver cultural experiences which align with local priorities,” she said.
