Grants to help community stand against domestic violence

Published: 20 Mar 2019

A grant of up to $3000 goes a long way when you are hosting a community event for a good cause.

May is Domestic Violence Prevention Month and, as part of the Mackay Draws the Line campaign, council is offering grants to assist local groups looking to take a stand against this community blight.

Funding for the grants project has been contributed by the Department of Social Services.

If your community group or not-for-profit is looking to host an event during May to fight or raise awareness for Domestic and Family Violence, then you can apply now for one of five available grants.

To submit your event or activity for consideration, head to mackay.smartygrants.com.au before midnight, Sunday, April 7.

For queries about the Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Grant program or for help with the application form, please contact community development officer Dayna Linsley.

You can reach Dayna on 4961 9481 during business hours or email dayna.linsley@mackay.qld.gov.au and quote your application number.
