Intersection expected to reopen by 5pm

Published: 14 Jun 2019

The intersection of Victoria and Sydney streets, affected by a water leak this morning, is expected to reopen to traffic by 5pm today (June14).

Council crews have isolated the leak and repairs are underway.

Detours will remain in place until that time. Both of the southbound lanes of Sydney St will continue to be signed 40km/h for the next few days.

The water leak started as a slow leak yesterday afternoon (June 13).

Council was planning to undertake repairs tonight (June 14) to limit disturbance to City Centre business operations as the water was required to be turned off to complete the repairs.

However the leak worsened overnight.

Council apologises for any inconvenience during these emergency repairs.
