There is plenty to do around the region this week…Dress up as your favourite character this Book Week and join Mackay Regional Council Libraries for Picnic in the Park, toddlers bring your adults along to Artspace Mackay and get creative at BMA Kidspace and SES are holding an open night in Sarina next week with information on how to join and tips on disaster preparation

2) Screenagers Movie

MYSS is bringing the movie/documentary 'Screenagers' to Mackay and Sarina in August. Screenagers is about the impact of the digital age on kids and how to help them avoid harmful effects and find balance. 3) Picnic in the Park

Thursday, August 22, 10am – noon  
Civic Precinct  

Dress up as your favourite book character and join us for a picnic in the park, Story Time under the trees and Baby Bounce on the lawn. There will be loads of fun for the kids with face painting, puppets, craft activities plus heaps more! Bring a picnic, rug, water bottle and hat. https://bit.ly/2Mtje1P

4) 2019 RACQ CQ Rescue Talent Search Competition

Saturday, August 24, 2pm  
MECC Auditorium 

The RACQ CQ Rescue Talent Search is a fundraising Talent Search Competition held in Mackay. In 2013, Brooke Lee created the RACQ CQ Rescue Talent Search to bring more opportunities for our young talent in our regional communities. The main focus for the event is to raise much needed funds for RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter service. Since 2013 the event has been held each year in Mackay and raised over $150,000 over the 6 events.

5) The Mackay Aussie Farm and Drinks Tour

A choice of fully guided whole day tours to enjoy the highlights of our region! 8am - 4.30pm. Lunch, snacks and drinks included. All tours depart from The Mackay Entertainment Centre (MECC). Our farmers and producers on these tours have a passionate desire to foster the development of a vibrant regional food culture where locals and visitors alike can access and enjoy the wonderful produce and value-added goods that are grown, raised, caught and made in our region. 6) BMA Kidspace

Tuesday, August 27, 10am – 2pm
Artspace Mackay

Join local artists and performers for creative art activities designed for toddlers and their adults. BMA Kidspace, Artspace Mackay’s ever popular toddler’s program, gives children under five a chance to explore and have fun with art in a climate of co-operative learning. The program includes free artist-run workshops from 10am to 2pm and live musical entertainment for kids from 12pm to 1pm. 7) Sarina SES Open Night

Come along to the Sarina SES Open Night in Sarina. Information will be provided about joining the SES including the activities and training involved as well as tips on disaster preparation and how to carry out temporary storm damage repairs. 10) STEAM Club
