Wild dog sightings recorded in Walkerston

Council's pest management officers will be undertaking a small baiting and trapping program for wild dogs in Walkerston from next week.

There has been an increase in sightings reported to council over the past month, with a family of wild dogs gradually moving closer towards the town centre.

The baiting and trapping program will run from Monday, October 28, until Friday, November 1.

Baiting will be carried out between the hours of 5pm and 6am each night and trapping will be conducted during the day and night.

Pet owners are reminded to walk their dogs on leashes and to keep their animals safe inside their house or in a fenced yard at night.
