Audiences embrace digital Festival Sessions

Published: 21 Aug 2020

Mackay Festival Sessions has received rave reviews from the community and is just halfway through its run.

The August 8 performance has been viewed almost 4000 times and last week’s performance, on August 15, has racked up 4900 views.

This Saturday night (August 22) from 6pm to 8pm you can catch two amazing local acts – Folks Like Us and Will Blume – live on your digital device.

Folks Like Us is a classically trained local trio, made up of Brendan Smith,

Kathleen Campbell and Sarah Rozekrans, with an exciting sound that’s a blend of pop, folk and classical music.

Will Blume (also known as Will Anderson) needs little introduction and has been performing in Mackay and throughout Queensland for years now.

Will’s brand of indie, rock and pop music is the perfect blend of ingredients for a social Saturday night with a few cold beverages and some nibbles.

Then, next Saturday (August 29), we have the grand finale featuring 2019 Queensland Album of the Year winner Tia Gostelow and four-piece funk/soul/rock outfit The Base Coats.

Add in live dance acts and art created live by talented visual artists and you have a very entertaining two hours.
