15th Anniversary release from Sarina Sugar Shed

Published: 13 Sep 2021

Sarina Sugar Shed is delighted to release a new rum to celebrate its 15th anniversary.

The Sugar Shed SB15 (small batch #15) is a premium three-year barrel-aged rum, described by distiller Sarah Parrott as one of the best releases ever by the Sugar Shed.

“Local cane spirit has been matured in American oak barrels for two and a half years, then finished off for six months in Grand Tokay barrels from Seppeltsfield in South Australia, resulting in a smooth and luscious rum with delicate hints of honey, toffee, caramel and exotic spices,” Ms Parrott said.

Mayor Greg Williamson said this is a milestone release for an auspicious occasion.

“The quality of rum produced at the Sugar Shed has been outstanding for a number of years and it is fitting that one of the best batches yet has been prepared for their 15th anniversary,” Mayor Williamson said.

Sarina Sugar Shed coordinator Ian Mason said there were only limited bottles available for sale.

“As a small-batch boutique distillery, we only produce and release a small number of bottles and we expect this one to sell out very quickly,” Mr Mason said.

The SB15 three-year rum is available in the Sugar Shed’s retail store from Monday, September 13. Each 700ml bottle is individually numbered, presented in an elegant black cylinder and is priced at $159.

Sarina Sugar Shed is open 9am to 4pm, seven days in the Field of Dreams Parklands, Sarina.
