Palm tree removal at Seaforth

Published: 26 Mar 2021

Council will be removing 13 coconut palms along Seaforth Esplanade Reserve next week due to safety concerns.

They have been inspected by an arborist and have been condemned as structurally unsound, therefore they must be removed as a matter of public safety.

Tree removal will begin early next week and will take place over two days.

No road closures are necessary however, pedestrians are asked to avoid the area where possible during the work.

Council will consider a suitable species to replace the removed coconut palms as part of the Seaforth Esplanade Master Plan.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by these necessary tree removals.
