Asset inspection planned for kerb, channel and pathway infrastructure

Contractor Shepherd Services will be conducting the work on behalf of council using an electronic assessment tool, known as a RACAS.

The RACAS collects high-definition images, GPS coordinates and roughness index rating scores.

The electronic tool will be attached to an easily identifiable survey vehicle and e-bike for ease of recognition by the public.

Residents are being advised that they may see either the survey vehicle or e-bike in their street or area as it travels across the region over the next two months.

The data capture is a straight-forward process with vision being captured specifically focused on footpaths and kerb and channel.

This work is part of an asset condition assessment which is a critical task that allows council to develop future asset renewal and management programs efficiently with detailed data.
