Botanic Gardens will host a MARVELous movie night

Cr Ayril Paton said this year’s two movies would share a common theme –superheroes.

“We’re bringing Marvel and DC Comics together for a fun night out under the stars,” he said.

“Crowd-favourite, Spider-Man will be the first hero to make an appearance in the Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

“This will be followed by the laugh-out-loud blockbuster, Shazam!”

“Best of all, this event is free to attend and is a chance for families and friends to enjoy some quality time together.”

Movies in the Meadow will be held on Friday, October 11, at Meadowlands Amphitheatre at Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (PG) will run from 6.30pm and Shazam (M) will start at 8.15pm.

Parking is available at the Meadowlands car park, off Alexandra Street.

Bring a picnic or purchase something from one of the food vans including El Papas and Buffstars Coffee. The Friends of the Gardens will also be selling popcorn.
