Community Attitude Survey to check in on Corporate Plan

Published: 20 Apr 2023

Council will today embark on a Community Attitude Survey which will include a check-in on the goals of its Corporate Plan.

The phone poll of 400 residents will be done by research company EMRS on behalf of council.

It will also benchmark residents' thoughts on council facilities and services against previous surveys.

Mayor Greg Williamson said council had adopted its new Corporate Plan for 2022-2027 in April last year.

He said it was an exciting blueprint for the region for five years.

“We’re 12 months into that plan, so the time is right to check in with the community to survey their thoughts on how council and the region is faring.

“The survey will particularly focus on its three outward facing pillars, which include Invest and Work, Live and Visit, and Community and Environment.

“There will be specific question in the survey focused on those areas.”

Mayor Williamson said the survey would also include the traditional questions based around council’s performance in terms of the services it provided and its community facilities.

“We’ve done these surveys every few years since 2009,’’ he said.

“So, we have good data to benchmark our performance. These surveys always highlight where we’re doing a good job and where there is room for improvement.”

There is also an online version for anyone wanting to complete the survey who isn’t contacted by phone.
