Council launches Disability Expo

Published: 28 Jul 2021

More than 17 per cent of Australians live with some form of disability and more than 10 per cent act as carers.

With the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) there has been a marked increase in service providers in the disability sector.

Council is launching the 2021 Mackay Disability Expo on Monday, September 6, at the Andergrove Community Centre on Celeber Drive to connect residents with providers, businesses and organisations in the disability sector.

The expo will run from 9am to 1pm.

The Disability Expo will be a platform for people with a disability to be informed about services, technology, aids and equipment available in the region and it will also be an opportunity for service providers and businesses to network and connect with each other.

Disability is defined as any limitation, restriction or impairment which restricts everyday activities and has lasted, or is likely to last, for at least six months.

Applications for exhibitors are now open and close on Friday, August 27, at 5pm.

There are limited sites available so please get your registrations in as soon as possible.
