COVID-19 vaccination progress for the Mackay region

The Mackay District Disaster Management Group has released updated vaccine data for the Mackay region, as at October 18, 2021.

> More than 7350 people in the Mackay Regional Council area were vaccinated last week.

> The figures were boosted by pop-up vaccination at Bunnings.

> There will be pop-up hubs at schools this weekend, including Pioneer State High School, North Mackay State High School and Mirani State High School, as well as Sarina Hospital

> There will also be a vaccination hub at Global Grooves in Queens Park this Saturday from 3pm to 8pm.

> The vaccination hub at Mackay Showgrounds remains open seven days a week (9am to 6.30pm weekdays and 9am to 3.30pm weekends).

> Nearly 63 per cent of our residents have now received one jab and 46 per cent are fully vaccinated. *

> Our community has done so well – but we need to keep up the good work and protect our current freedoms.

> There are now no more excuses to not get the COVID-19 vaccination – there is plenty of supply and access to the vaccine across our community.

> It takes five weeks from your first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination to be completely vaccinated and better protected against serious illness.

* Percentages down on last week as children 12 to 15 now included in the figures.
