Demolition works on River Street

Published: 29 Oct 2020

Council has engaged contractors to start work demolishing the old Sea Fresh Seafood building, located at 6 River Street, from Monday, November 9, weather permitting.

Demolition works are expected to be completed prior to Christmas and work will be undertaken from 6am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Some Saturday work may also be required.

The building is in disrepair and the demolition is required as parts of the building have started falling into the river recently.

Only access to the side service road on River Street will be affected. No parking or road closures on the main road of River Street will be required.

Access to the Paxtons building and the building located at 8 River Street will be available. However, there will be a partial closure of the eastern end of the side access road and traffic flow will be changed to two-way flow for the duration of the works (as shown in the image).

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by this work.
