Hundreds of orchids will be on display when the Orchid Extravaganza returns on September 12.

The Orchid House at Queens Park will come alive from 8am to 4pm with orchid workshops, demonstrations, auctions, and plant sales.

Mayor Greg Williamson said orchid lovers would be in for a treat.

“This year sees the Orchid Extravaganza return to Queens Park in the beautifully refurbished Orchid House,” he said.

“There will be some exquisite orchids on display, including both exotic and Australian native species.

“There will also be orchid experts on hand who can give you their best advice and tips and tricks to ensure your orchids thrive in our climate.

“If you’ve ever wanted to incorporate orchids into your garden, there is no better opportunity than the Orchid Extravaganza to discover what is available and find out what would best suit your garden and lifestyle.”

Entry is free. Food stalls will also be available for those who want to grab a bite to eat or a hot/cold drink at the event.

This event is proudly supported by Mackay Regional Council, Mackay District Orchid Society and Pioneer Orchid and Plant Association.
