Intersection upgrade works continue to progress

Published: 15 Jun 2021

Drainage works at the intersection of Milton and Archibald streets are set to commence this month.

The current T-intersection has reached capacity and an intersection upgrade is under way.

These upgrade works include the installation of a single-lane roundabout to cater for higher volumes of traffic and improve road safety in the area, as well as new trunk drainage infrastructure which will improve flood immunity in the area.

Council has awarded the upcoming construction works to a contractor to deliver.

Residents and motorists can expect to see the contractor’s (Bellwether) crews on site and equipment operating in the area from late-June.

Initially, crews will start the drainage installation works in the road reserve on Milton Street, followed by Archibald Street and then the roundabout installation roadworks.

The intersection upgrade project is expected to be completed by December 2021, weather permitting.

This project is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme (TIDS) and council.
