It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Gardens

Friday the 13th will be anything but unlucky for friends and families looking forward to celebrating the festive season.

Meadowlands Amphitheatre will once again play host to the Botanic Gardens’ popular carols event, Christmas in the Gardens this Friday (December 13).

The event will kick off at 5.30pm and staff at the Gardens have been busily preparing to make sure it’s one to remember.

Councillor Ayril Paton said Christmas in the Gardens was an excellent opportunity to get the family together to celebrate the festive season.

“We’re excited to welcome Anette Worthington back to the stage again this year to perform everyone’s favourite Christmas songs,” he said.

“She will be joined by Kathleen Campbell and Theatre Arts Mackay Dance Excellence.

“Christmas in the Gardens is the perfect way to unwind after a busy week at work.

“Bring a picnic blanket or chair and some snacks and enjoy the festive atmosphere. If you don’t feel like packing a picnic, food vendors will be on-site from 5.30pm so you can grab something before the performances start at 6pm.”

The Friends of the Gardens will also have glow products and raffle tickets for sale throughout the night to support future developments in the Gardens.

Christmas in the Gardens is an alcohol-free event and is free to attend.
