Kerbside bins low in stock

Published: 10 Nov 2021

Council contractor JJ Richards has advised it is currently running low on stock of 240 litre kerbside bins.

Council has experienced a higher-than-normal number of requests for new and replacement wheelie bins resulting in stock being depleted.

During October, council supplied 126 new bins, repaired 129 broken bins (monthly average 132) and replaced 427 broken or stolen bins (monthly average 350).

A new shipment has been ordered but shipping has been delayed due to COVID-19 and border closures.

Council is prioritising the supply of bins to new properties and stolen bins, but any replacements may take up to two weeks.

Bins requiring repair but not replacement will not be affected.

Council apologises for any inconvenience.
