Library on the blink thanks to hacking event

Published: 01 Oct 2019

Young adults will learn how to hack their family’s Christmas lights at a fun new two-part event at Dudley Denny City Library.

Hack Your Christmas Lights is just one of several fun and educational events coming up for youth at our libraries.

At the Getting Started class on Tuesday, October 15, from 4pm to 6pm, participants will receive a free micro-controller and shield.

They will learn how to use a computer program to integrate the controller with their lights to create programmed blinking sequences.

In the Next Step class on Thursday, October 17, from 4pm to 6pm, young adults can go all out and even learn how to time their lights’ flashes to music.

Classes are for young adults 15 years and older. Spaces are limited.

Bookings are required via mackay.qld.gov.au/whatson or by calling 4961 9387.
