Log on to sign on at Sports Expo during February

Council's 2022 Online Sports Expo and Sign-on event is now live on our website.

The online expo is free and available on council’s website during February.

More than 100 sport and recreation options are listed on the new online portal, which has launched today (February 1).

Mayor Greg Williamson said it was the second year in a row council’s popular Sports Expo and Sign-on, usually held at the MECC, had reverted to online.

“Our organising committee had been working on both an online and ticketed MECC sessions event for this year but has had to revert to online only again due to COVID,’’ Mayor Williamson said.

“We’re still excited as last year’s online expo was a success and this year’s is via a new and improved platform,’’ he said.

“There will also once again be a host of come-and-try activities at various sporting and recreation clubs in our region during the month, with details on council’s website.”

The online expo features eight active zone demonstration videos, including dance, taekwondo, dragon boating, cricket, AFL, shooting, rugby union and table tennis.

Some of these were filmed at the various club venues. They are available to watch on the online portal.

There are $500 in vouchers up for grabs for a local sport and recreation club. Nominate your favourite club on the council website and they could win. The winning entry will also receive a $100 gift voucher.

Five $100 gift vouchers will be randomly drawn and awarded to people who attend the come-and-try days in February.
