Lookout works back on track

Published: 10 Sep 2020

Work on the North Mackay Rotary Lookout upgrade has resumed following delays due to COVID-19.

Social distancing restrictions meant Ergon Energy had been unable to complete necessary powerline replacement works, placing the project on hold.

Contractors returned to site this week to resume construction works now that Ergon Energy has completed those necessary works.

Council estimates that construction will continue until mid-November, weather permitting.

The remaining works include structural steel works, installation of seating and balustrades, service relocations and connections, roadworks, elevated deck and minor landscaping works.

Hours of operation for these works will be between 6am and 6pm Monday to Friday, with some weekend works, where required.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks everyone for their patience while this exciting project takes shape.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact council on 1300 MACKAY (622 529).
