Midge Point water improvement works

This component of flushing is the final piece of work for the first stage of the Midge Point water improvement project, which included the installation of a new section of water main along Midge Point Reservoir Road.

The flushing of the mains will remove any sediment that may have settled in the pipes.

This work will take place on Wednesday, September 8, and Thursday, September 9, from 9am until 3pm each day.

The discoloured water may continue for a short period following the completion of these works. The water is still safe to drink but it is advised to wash clothes 24 hours after the flushing when the water is clear.

Washing chemicals will be available at the Point Tavern car park for residents and businesses if they need to wash immediately after the flushing.

Residents and businesses may also experience low water pressure during this time however, there will be no interruption to supply.

The second stage of the works, which are ongoing, involves the upgrade of the existing Kelsey Creek treatment facility.
