New footpath in Sarina improves safety

Published: 08 Feb 2019

A new footpath is being constructed in Sarina, along Hoey and East streets.

It will replace the current path, which is in poor condition and has a steep cross fall, to improve pedestrian safety.

The new path will be wider with provision for all-abilities access to Sarina Village Shopping Centre from the adjacent retirement village.

Work is scheduled to start on Monday, February 18, and will be completed in late April, weather permitting.

Residents are advised that there may be possible noise, dust and traffic disturbances.

Please obey all signage and the directions of traffic controllers to ensure the safety of all road users and pedestrians during construction.

This project has been funded by the Queensland Government’s $200 million Works for Queensland program.
