Two local parks are getting makeovers for Christmas.

The playgrounds in Ron Anderson Park in South Mackay and Busuttin Drive Park in Eimeo will both be revitalised, with work starting this month.

Construction will begin next week and will continue until late-January, weather permitting.

The upgrades at Busuttin Drive Park will include the replacement of the existing play equipment with a new combination play unit, swing set and rocker, as well as other minor upgrades throughout the park.

Works will be conducted between 6.30am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.

The play equipment at Ron Anderson Park will also be replaced with a new combination unit. The existing shade structure will remain in place and council will also be installing a cantilever swing and rockers.

Works will be conducted between 6.30am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Both playgrounds will be closed to the public for the duration of the works.

These projects are funded by the Australian Government and Mackay Regional Council.
