Proposed changes to local laws

Council has proposed amendments to six local laws and the public is being invited to leave their feedback.

The amendments relate to a range of issues including:

> changes for determining when an allotment is overgrown or unsightly
> changes to requirements for specific advertising devices
> changes to reflect new water quality guidelines for public aquatic facilities
> changes to the conditions in which animals must be kept, the inclusion of new off-leash dog areas and updating locations where dogs are prohibited
> updating local government-controlled areas, facilities and roads
> minor updates to off-street regulated parking areas.

Feedback on the proposed amended local laws will be open until Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 11.59pm.

Submissions can be provided to council though the Connecting Mackay website, by email, posting a written submission to Mackay Regional Council, PO Box 41, Mackay or delivering a submission to the Sir Albert Abbott Administration Building, 73 Gordon Street, Mackay.
