Residents asked to limit water usage

Published: 06 Aug 2020

Council is asking residents in Farleigh, Erakala, Richmond, The Leap and some parts of Glenella to urgently conserve water for the next 24 hours.

Water Services have been undertaking major water main realignment works on Davey Street as part of the Bruce Highway upgrade, isolating the water main that feeds Farleigh and the Farleigh Reservoir.

During these works, crews encountered mechanical issues at the Janes Creek Pump Station, resulting in the Farleigh Reservoir reaching critically low levels.

Residents in Farleigh, Erakala, The Leap, Ridgewood Drive and Palm Ridge Drive as well as Cinnamon Drive in Glenella, will experience low water pressure or loss of supply.

Residents are asked to avoid all outdoor water use, including watering their lawn or washing their car until Friday.

Residents are also asked to reduce usage indoors by taking short showers and only using the washing machine if necessary.

Water Services are currently on site to rectify the issue.

Council apologises for any inconvenience.
