Sarina Sugar Shed 15-year celebration

Join the celebrations from 9am to 4pm with free fairy floss all day, one-dollar slushies, free balloons, half-price guided tours, $10 tasting boards, door prizes (including Wonka Bars), a hamper giveaway and much more.

Deputy Mayor Karen May said the Sugar Shed had grown incredibly during the past 15 years and it was important to share this special milestone with the local community.

“The Sugar Shed started with an idea and thanks to the hard work of the Sarina community and dozens of volunteers and dedicated staff it has become a national award-winning attraction,” Cr May said.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the Sarina and Mackay communities to share in its success,” she said.

Sarina Sugar Shed coordinator Ian Mason said extra tours would be added at 10.30am and 1pm to ensure as many locals as possible had the opportunity to visit.

“The local community has been a vital part of the Sugar Shed’s success over its 15-year journey and we want to give a little something back to say thank you,” Mr Mason said.

“The half-price tour tickets can be booked online or directly with the Sugar Shed and we do highly recommend advance bookings,” he said.
