Sarina Women’s Week nominations close Friday

Published: 02 Mar 2021

There are just a few days left to nominate women who work hard for the Sarina community.

Nominations for the Sarina Women’s Week Awards, featuring the prestigious perpetual Mary Malone Award, close this Friday (March 5) at midnight.

This year, rather than a sit-down dinner, the Sarina Neighbourhood Centre team will be hosting a beautiful long table high tea at Third Ground Coffee House.

The event, on Saturday, March 13, will be a lovely afternoon tea in the café’s garden with invited nominees and guests.

While numbers will be limited in accordance with the venue’s COVID-safe plan, the team have arranged for the presentations to be filmed and they will be sharing them via Sarina Neighbourhood Centre’s social media.

To nominate someone, email their name, contact details and a brief paragraph about them to the Sarina Neighbourhood Centre team at sarinaneighbourhoodcentre@mackay.qld.gov.au

Don’t forget to include your name, email and phone number and let us know if you wish to remain anonymous.

To learn more, call the Neighbourhood Centre on 4961 9283.

The awards are an initiative of the Sarina Neighbourhood Centre and council, supported by the Queensland Government.

They coincide with Queensland Women's Week, which runs from March 3 to 14. The theme for the week is “Celebrate our present. Own our future”.

The Mary Malone Perpetual Award was created in honour of the contributions made by Mary Malone to the Sarina community.
